Covid time with InventHelp

|Joe Jarvis

We conducted some fairly extensive research, and it is a unique product. Google must have been listening because my news feeds started to be filled with ads for InventHelp.

They seemed to be a great fit. They would help with getting a US Patent and promote us to potential investors. They offered an approach we would not have thought of. We would be included with other inventions at trade shows. Let's not forget a minaiture 3D printed model. It seemed to be just what we needed. They were responsible for the George Foreman grill. How could we go wrong?

This all happened relatively quickly, as we were very excited and thought we had figured it all out. Then COVID hit. And, like everyone else, our time slowed to a snails pace.

We tried to stay positive. There were monthly updates with big printouts showing traction, and data that seemed very positive. They did mountains of research that focused from where we could sell to who we could sell to. Again all very positive stuff. Unfortunately The Dock Ledge, or the Perch as it was known then, is a very tactile product and it needs to be seen in action before the lightbulb goes off. That wasn't going to happen in the COVID atmosphere we were experiencing.

So life moved along and we were now stranded between hope and heartache. No trade shows and a non essential business at the time we couldn't really do anything. We then took it as "Lets see if we even get a Patent."
